This was so refreshing. I've loved the library since I was a kid, hanging out there often until it closed. I was there so much that my parents never questioned where I was if I wasn't home because they already knew. Fast forward to grad school I took a Library Sciences elective and it opened my eyes to so much more that libraries are responsible and made me love them even more. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Beautiful read. Always happy to see which roads stemmed from your decision to be vegan.

I remember going to the library was my favorite activity. I begged my sisters to take me to the “libary” and the more books I could take home, the bigger my smile.

I’ve always loved the library and reading. The smell of books just does something to my nervous system. We have a library by us that I have yet to check out. This certainly built some momentum for me. 💕

My husband enjoys his Kobo I got him 4 years ago but I’m still loyal to the sensory experience of books! I’m grateful for board books because Emery can’t destroy them but I love flipping thin pages

I'm so glad that you found a space of belonging at your local library. I always loved the library growing up, the vibe was always just right - mental stimulation but low-key. I like your commitment to showing up rain or shine just for the sake of community and deepening roots and providing yourselves with that routine. Last week I actually got the application card to submit for a library card here in the town I'm at. I'm really looking forward to getting that done, your post actually inspired me to put that at the top end of my to-do list this week.

I hope you get to expand your community and connections through the library soon! I’m working on still going to things despite the weather. No such thing as bad weather (unless it’s dangerous lol) I just have to dress appropriately and choose a positive mindset. I really don’t like that people allow the weather to control their moods all the time. The vibe is extra cozy when there’s a drizzle outside the library!

I really enjoyed reading Library Love.

My sis is a retired librarian. My favorite teacher Mr. Lee was the librarian at my primary in Denver and he could recite the alphabet backwards. Oh, such a hero! I would move into a library if I could. The Denver Library and The Natural History Museum, shared home dream!

I will be back to read more.

Blessings!

Thank you for reading and writing back! Libraries and museums truly have the coziest vibes. I hope to install permanent shelves in our house so I can pretend I’m in the library lol I’ve been to the Denver NHM but not the library so I’ll add that to my list next trip!

Oh, the library is the largest I have ever been in. Denver has a way doing things BIG right?

I think adding a library to a home is a grand idea.

Have a beautiful weekend.

Ah I can’t wait for Emery to be doing those summer programs and going to the book fairs! Only this week did he start repeating words we read to him in books, this week it was “sloth”
