I’m sure I was thinking hard in the womb. Megamind energy. I’ve always had a racing mind. One that craves new information, deep introspection and the ability to be creative at all times. This is why I study philosophy. I prefer depth. Depth anywhere and everywhere. Want to hurt me? Subject me to a surface level conversation. I actually need depth. Don’t equate depth to seriousness. Depth equates to expansiveness. Expanding the mind and heart will always be desired.
Let me start by saying, I don’t know how to be unintentional. To make decisions without intention is lazy to me. It’s also quite dangerous. Harm can be done much easily when we do things haphazardly.
I appreciate everyone starting to become more intentional. Whether it’s in their shopping habits, digital use or lifestyle choices, it doesn’t matter when you start, it only matters if. Because my intentions are tied up in my morals, once I’ve started, I can’t stop. We can’t stop. Demanding a better world with pure intentions will prevail if we persist together.
My intentions have layers within them. They are philosophical, political, spiritual & practical. Within each of those realms is the core flavor of ethics. Being ethical is essential. Ethics seem to exist on a spectrum than a binary to me. Each of us living special lives cannot slap cutesy one liners on how we should act onto everything like a bumper sticker. All I can advise us to do is to align our actions with our ethics.
I want to lead by example. I don’t want to be the only leader, that’s a lot of power and pressure. I simply desire to show you ways in which you can be intentional in multiple areas all at once. How more than one truth can exist harmoniously.
I’m vegan with food allergies. I have college degrees with no interest of using them. I help others even when I need help. I believe in God with no strict membership to any religion. I can nurture my friendships as much as I nurture my family. I’m saddened by the oligarchy we’re living under and still hopeful for a better future that we collaborate on creating. I’m a full time mother and run my own home bakery. I am content and disturbed and enthralled and infuriated often all in one day. I can be all these things because I put a lot of intention behind these choices. I’m willing to defend these choices because they are intentional ones. You see what I mean?
It’s okay if you don’t, I’m not here to force anything.
All I can say is, being more intentional to align your ethics with your actions is something you can greatly impact your life. It needs to be intrinsically driven, not extrinsically by media, family, peer pressure, etc. You don’t want to wake up and think, why am I even doing any of this? Or get asked why did you do xyz and can’t answer. You’re better than that my love.
Sincerely with a kiss on both your cheeks and hug so tight our hearts beat against another,
Carrington
